What No One Tells You About Vitamin D3
Most Indian adults fall short on Vitamin D3. It's not because of a bad diet or "just getting older." It's because most of us simply don't get enough sun exposure anymore — and even when we do, our bodies don't always use it well.
Let's break down what's actually going on, and why a drop of the right D3 can fix more than you'd expect.
DID YOU KNOW?
Nearly 70% of Indians are Vitamin D deficient — across every age group, city and village, and both genders. Despite living in one of the sunniest countries on Earth.
That's not a coincidence. It's indoor lifestyles, sunscreen, pollution, and skin that needs longer sun exposure to make the same amount of D3 as lighter skin does. Add a mostly vegetarian diet — which naturally has very few D3-rich foods — and the gap only gets wider.
This isn't a symptom of "just getting older." It's a nutrition gap. And it's fixable.
Why Vitamin D3 Matters More Than You Think
Vitamin D isn't just a "bone vitamin." It's a fat-soluble vitamin your body needs for:
• Normal absorption of calcium and normal bone maintenance
• Normal muscle function
• Normal function of the immune system
• Normal cell division
• Maintaining normal blood calcium levels
Low levels don't always show up as an obvious symptom, which is part of why deficiency is so under-recognised. If you're unsure where you stand, a simple blood test (25(OH)D) can tell you — it's worth checking rather than guessing.
Why Lichen-Derived D3 (Not D2)
Here's something most labels won't tell you: the Vitamin D3 in most supplements comes from lanolin — a wax extracted from sheep's wool. Not exactly what "vegan" shoppers expect.
DID YOU KNOW? The usual vegan swap is D2 (ergocalciferol), not D3. Research suggests D2 is generally less effective than D3 at raising and maintaining Vitamin D levels in the body.
So we went with lichen instead — one of the only known natural sources of true D3. Chemically, lichen-derived D3 is identical to the D3 your own skin makes from sunlight — same structure, same form your body already knows how to use.
No compromises. Just better sourcing.
Why It's a Drop, Not a Capsule
We didn't choose the drop format for looks. Research suggests liquid Vitamin D is absorbed more efficiently than tablets or standard capsules, since it doesn't need to dissolve first.
A few other reasons drops made sense:
• No swallowing a pill — just 2 drops on a spoon, in food, or in your favourite drink
• Precise, adjustable dosing — drop by drop
• A minimal, two-ingredient formula: Vitamin D3 (from lichen) and MCT oil from coconut, which helps your body actually absorb it (Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so it needs a little fat to work)
• Nothing else — no synthetic fillers, no unnecessary additives
